Parker Konkle is a pianist and vocal coach based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a recent alum of the Music Academy Lehrer Vocal Institute and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Past engagements have included répétiteur and assistant music director for the chamber opera, As One, at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, répétiteur for a production of As One with the Holy City Arts and Lyric Opera (HALO) in Charleston, South Carolina and répétiteur and apprentice coach for CCM Opera d’Arte’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Upcoming engagements include Festival Artist Pianist/Coach for Opera Saratoga’s 2024 Summer Season, which includes Cosí fan tutte, Guys and Dolls, and a world-premiere opera by inti figgis-vizeuta; and staff pianist for the George Shirley Vocal Competition at the University of Michigan.

As a lover of art song, Parker will be performing in Cincinnati Song Initiative’s (CSI) Let It Be New digital concert in May 2024 which includes new works commissioned by CSI and National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). He has been involved in two performances featured in CSIs Follow the Lieder podcast hosted by Mandee Madrid-Sikich and participated in the Amply Song Workshop, a collaboration between the CSI and the Lynx Project. Parker has participated in masterclasses with Myra Huang, Pierre Valet, Sasha Cooke, and others.

A frequent choral collaborator, Parker is a staff accompanist at the Cincinnati Youth Choir and accompanist for the University of Cincinnati Cabaret Singers. As an undergraduate student, he was the accompanist for the Penn State Glee Club, Essence of Joy, and Concert Choir.

Parker attended the Pennsylvania State University for his Bachelor of Music in piano performance where he studied with Christopher Guzman and Timothy Shafer. While at PSU, he was the recipient of many performance-based scholarships and competition prizes, including first prize in the 2019 Steinway and Sons Junior Piano Competition, honorable mention in the 2019 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) PA State Competition, and finalist in the PSU Concerto Competition. He was also a recipient of the Golumbic Award given by the Penn State College of Arts and Architecture and is a Presser Scholar. Parker earned his MM in Collaborative Piano at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he held a graduate assistantship in vocal accompanying and was the recipient of the Gillespie Schonbach Endowed Scholarship in Collaborative Piano. He studied with Kenneth Griffiths, Donna Loewy, and Marie-France Lefebvre, and Sandra Rivers.
